The Mission Gallery Presents Selected Posters from an International Poster Competition Dedicated to Bulgaria

12/10/26

From 14 to 30 October 2026, Mission Gallery will host a collection of 30 posters inspired by Bulgaria and created as part of an international tourism poster competition.

In 2025, as part of efforts to promote a new image of Bulgaria as an attractive year-round tourist destination, the International Triennial of Stage Poster – Sofia and the Ministry of Tourism organised an international tourism poster competition dedicated to Bulgaria. The Ministry of Tourism provided the prize fund for the initiative.

For the first time, Bulgaria became the focus of an international competition inviting visual artists from around the world to create original posters inspired by the country – as they know it or as they are yet to discover it. The result is an impressive collection of original works that offer distinctive interpretations of Bulgaria’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.

The exhibition at Mission Gallery features all the award-winning works, alongside posters selected by the jury for an engaging travelling exhibition that will be presented in Bulgaria and abroad. The collection comprises 30 works by artists from different generations and parts of the world, including Bulgaria, Belarus, China, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

The diversity of artistic approaches and visual symbols highlights the many layers of a country’s image and demonstrates how poster art can communicate national identity to international audiences.

The exhibition is part of the “The Power of the Poster” project, included in the National Cultural Calendar and implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.
